Fall Mushroom Retreat on the Klamath River
A Weekend of Wild Mushroom Hunting, Identification, Cooking and General Myco-mania
On November 20-23, Sandy Bar Ranch will our annual Fall Mushroom Gathering, three days of hunting, identifying and cooking mushrooms in the Klamath Mountains. Sandy Bar Ranch is located on the Klamath River in the heart of the Six River National Forest. The area is home to over 1000 species of mushrooms and miles of hiking trails and good mushroom habitat. Participants will learn about where to find and how to identify wild mushrooms, as well as various uses such as medicine, textile dying, food, and more. All levels welcome Ð from novice beginner to veteran Fungal Fanatic!

When: Thursday evening, November 20 Sunday, November 23
Cost: $200/person, includes hostel style lodging in cabins or camping, 1 meal/day (participants responsible for other meals) and all workshops.

Each fall the forest floor of Northern California comes alive with thousands of varieties of mushrooms. Join us at Sandy Bar Ranch for our annual Fall Wild Mushroom Retreat, a three-day gathering of mushroom enthusiasts who come together to hunt, identify, cook, and preserve wild edible mushrooms. Participants of all ages are invited to come and share their fungal knowledge. Bring your favorite mushroom recipes, stories, and experience. The weekend will include various field trips, identifications sessions, preservation techniques, great meals, a mushroom cook off, and an evening of mycological theatre. This is an educational and festive event for everyone from novice beginners to experienced fungal fanatics!
